What You Will Do

  • Epic Review & Breakdown: Review and analyze outstanding Epics for the project, determining how to break them down into smaller, manageable user stories or tasks with clear and achievable finish points.
  • Requirements Challenge: Collaborate with the client to challenge and refine the requirements for Day 1, ensuring that only essential functionalities are included in the initial delivery. Provide guidance on prioritization and alignment with project goals.
  • Scope Control: Assist in controlling the scope of the project to prevent unnecessary changes or additions, contributing to more predictable delivery and avoiding future escalations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication with both internal teams and external clients, ensuring alignment on expectations and deliverables. Serve as a bridge between business and technical teams, translating requirements into actionable tasks.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the current requirements gathering and management process, providing recommendations to prevent similar challenges in the future.
  • Risk Management: Assist in identifying potential risks related to the scope and requirements and help mitigate these through careful planning and proactive communication.

Skills and Experience You Will Need

Required:

  • Proven Experience: Strong background as a Product Owner, Lead Business Analyst, or in a similar role within complex projects.
  • Epic and Backlog Management: Expertise in reviewing and breaking down large Epics into user stories or tasks. Experience with Agile methodologies, including backlog refinement and sprint planning.
  • Familiarity with ExamWorks or similar projects.
  • Client Management: Ability to challenge clients constructively, ensuring that their expectations are realistic and aligned with project goals.
  • Change Management: Experience in managing change requests, especially large CRs, and ensuring that they are appropriately controlled and aligned with project timelines.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon into business-friendly language and vice versa.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying issues and providing solutions.
  • Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum or Kanban.

Desired:

  • Experience with requirements management tools and Agile project management software (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Certification in Agile or Business Analysis (e.g., CSM, CBAP)

** Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on actual job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift to 15 lbs., as needed
  • Must be able to work on-site (corporate/client offices), as needed (not applicable for 100% remote roles)
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead.
  • Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. 
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, the ability to tolerate fluorescent lighting, and the ability to adjust focus.
