Mainframe Developer

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using Cobol, DB2, JCL, and VSAM.
• Perform system analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting of mainframe applications.
• Utilize mainframe tools such as Endevor, Expeditor, and SPUFI to manage code and application deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze system requirements.
• Participate in daily Agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions, adhering to Agile practices and timelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing applications, improving performance and functionality as required.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior developers.
• Contribute to system and application documentation.

Required:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe development, including expertise in Cobol, Db2, JCL, and VSAM.
• Proficient in using mainframe tools like Endevor, Expeditor, and SPUFI.
• Strong experience in Agile methodologies and working in an Agile environment.
• Good understanding of mainframe system architecture and performance tuning.
• Solid debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift to 15 lbs., as needed
• Must be able to work on-site (corporate/client offices), as needed (not applicable for 100% remote roles)
• Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead.
• Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. 
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, the ability to tolerate fluorescent lighting, and the ability to adjust focus.
