What You Will Do

  • Carry out routine operations that control data processing, peripherals, and communications and networking equipment – including start-up, shutdown, and normal re-start procedures under supervision.
  • Carry out routine monitoring, logging, and reporting tasks under supervision.
  • Report problems and other unforeseen or exceptional events to supervisor.
  • Carry out and observe all associated administrative and clerical procedures.
  • Able to handle the movement of media to and from storage locations under supervision. Load and unload media onto devices and enter necessary commands to enable media to be used.
  • Strictly follow all relevant instructions and procedures relating to malfunction, safety, and security.
  • Contribute to routine maintenance and installation tasks while under supervision
  • Take appropriate action to handle and resolve requests for support or advice.
  • Administer job queues to ensure efficient job throughput and output processing.

Skills and Experience You Will Need

Required:

  • 2-3 years of experience in technical support
  • Understand system software that control activities such as input, output, dynamic resource allocation, and error reporting, within the operation of a computer configuration.
  • Knowledge of the IT/IS infrastructure and the IT applications and service processes used within own organization, including those associated with sustainability and efficiency.
  • The principles and application of cloud/ virtualization (including ownership, responsibilities, and security implications). Use of tools and systems to manage virtualized environments.
  • Understand the purpose and composition of service level agreements (SLA); the relationship between an SLA, an OLA (Operational Level Agreement) and an underpinning contract for the supply of services.
  • Familiar with everyday desktop software.
  • Effective verbal communication

Desired:

  • Basic networking skills
  • Active Directory and End User Support
  • Azure Entra and O365 environment experience
  • Previous work experience with Intune
  • Familiar with Asset management

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift to 15 lbs., as needed
  • Must be able to work on-site (corporate/client offices), as needed (not applicable for 100% remote roles)
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead.
  • Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. 
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, the ability to tolerate fluorescent lighting, and the ability to adjust focus.
