Linux Administrator

• Upgrade RHEL 7x to RHEL 8 using LEAPP and Ansible playbooks
• Upgrade RHEL 6 to RHEL 7
• Work autonomously, only requiring “expert” level technical support from others.
• Exercise judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of both standard and complex techniques and procedures.
• Be able to build servers from scratch, including OS installation, setup LDAP, setup security, etc.
• Write Ansible scripts to automate recurring manual steps.
• Provide emergency production support during non-business hours in case of critical

Required:

• Knowledge of ITIL production support best practices
• Automation Ansible Playbook with roles experience
• Extensively RHEL OS Build & installation
• Familiar with Kerberos Authentication
• Production support experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong understanding of operating system hardening 
• RHEL 6 - 8 administration and Oracle Linux
• Grub/Grub2 configuration
• RHEL 6x to RHEL 7x upgrades
• RHEL 7 to RHEL 8 upgrades using LEAPP.
• LEAPP Pre/post Upgrade report reviewing and resolution
• Experience with GitHub
• Experience with Jira
• Knowledge of Splunk, Dynatrace, Extra hop monitoring tools
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Harness

Desired

• Strong understanding of multi-tier architecture and infrastructure configurations
• Experience in Agile and DevOps environments and cultures.
• High availability cluster setup & Troubleshooting
• Agile Methodology, working in sprints experience
• Familiar with ServiceNow tool
• Strong understanding of multi-tier architecture and infrastructure configurations.
• Knowledge of other Linux distros is advantageous
• Strong experience with VMware

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field plus 2 years of hands-on experience
• 5 years of hands-on experience without degree

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift to 15 lbs., as needed
• Must be able to work on-site (corporate/client offices), as needed (not applicable for 100% remote roles)
