What You Will Do

  • Oracle DBA to be part of DBA team supporting a large OSFAA-FCCM application project.
  • The Database Administrator (DBA) is required to perform Oracle database changes related to a large OCAC environment – "personalizing" it to meet the application's needs.
  • Net new DB server build requirements and review project docs to ensure design specifications meet application needs.
  • Advise on bank’s DB standards as required on projects (e.g. Audit processes, database access, job configuration)
  • Create new databases (OCAC PDBs - CDBs)
  • AWR reporting, tuning and optimization of databases.
  • Updates to database schema (create, alter, or drop objects) details.
  • Apply database permissions (add, modify, or delete logins, grant/revoke permissions to DB objects)
  • Deploy code (stored procedures, SQL scripts)
  • Setup DB traces for Performance Testing to capture various performance metrics.
  • Support testing cycles (e.g. Running scripts, database backup/restores)
  • Documentation updates, as required.
  • Add or Alter DB parameters at session and Instance level dynamically.
  • DB Links creation for PDB Duplication and for access to remote databases.
  • Backup and recovery of database using RMAN tool and database flashback using GRP (Guaranteed restore point) and export and import for restoring specific objects at database level.

 

Skills and Experience You Will Need

Required

  • 7+ years’ experience in a DBA role
  • Work as part of a DBA team providing the project 24/7 support through rotating shifts.  
  • Strong experience and knowledge in installing and building OCAC (Oracle19c upgrades/in place upgrades and Clustered RAC installs)
  • Experience in implementing Oracle Wallet TDE for data security of RAC databases.
  • Experience in Advanced Compression for large tables and partitioning large tables to improve performance.
  • Responsible for Network Configuration and involved in Client Server environment using TNSNames, Listener, NET configuration assistant and other configuration files.
  • Use Data pump Export/Import as the Prime method for backup and copying data from one environment to another.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM, and Active Data Guard.
  • Strong experience with AWR, ADDM reporting, SQL Tuning Advisor, SQL Trace & TKProf and optimization of Database/VLDBs.
  • Proven working experience in a large highly regulated enterprise IT environment is a must.

Education:

  • University Degree or a College degree/diploma is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift to 15 lbs., as needed
